Arrowhead Desert Tours was started a quarter of a century ago by Tom, "Paydirt" DeStories. "Paydirt," a friendly and gregarious sort, wanted to share his knowledge and love of the Sonoran Desert with all the visitors and tourists who flock to the "Valley of the Sun", and so "Arrowhead Desert Tours" was born.

Today, Arrowhead Desert Tours offers a variety of "Action Packed Western Adventures" for corporate groups, individuals and families. Our vast desert trail areas and river canyons are spectacular, pristine and contain a wide variety of "4x4" terrain like no other seen in the Phoenix / Scottsdale area.

Desert 4x4 Tours:

Jump on board one of our teal blue Blazers and head out into the great Sonoran Desert with one of our expert guides. He'll take you on some beautiful desert trails which run past unique desert gardens and washes teaming with life. Also walk with your guide and he'll teach you Indian survival secrets and about the many plants and animals that fill the desert. Then try your hand at firing an authentic six-shooter and learn how to throw a tomahawk.

Learn from experienced prospectors as you try your own hand at striking it rich On Paydirt's mile long gold claim. With the equipment provided, your guide will show you where to look and how to sluice and pan for gold and garnets. Along the way, you'll get to see some of the most spectacular desert in the area as you four wheel drive through the back country of Arizona.

Team Building:

Get your team together and head out into the desert with Arrowhead Desert Tours. Try a scavenger hunt and rally to help build team spirit and have a great time. Go out with your guide armed with a compass, camera and your imagination to compete with other teams for points and prizes. Also try the tug of war across a sandy desert stream and your company will have a healthy dose of Cowboy camaraderie.
