 Climate

At an elevation of 6,000 to 9,000 feet, Bryce enjoys relatively mild summers. July is the warmest month, but it is still chilly at night. With the pleasant weather comes lots of visitors. About 75% of Bryce's yearly visitors come in June, July and August. You should make reservations for motels and be prepared to share the scenery with others.

In fall the crowds thin but the weather remains pleasant, making it the ideal time to experience Bryce. In winter, the park in mostly deserted, though the brightly colored rock formations frosted with thick snow is a sight to see on a crisp clear day. Spring is chancy. Rain and snow are unpredictable and temperatures are often below freezing well into May.
