The mood of the river changes drastically as the canyon deepens to 2,000 feet and explodes into an all-day fury of whitewater rapids. In one of the Colorado River's steepest stretches called The Big Drops, your raft plunges 30 feet in a matter of minutes through rapids that match those of the Grand Canyon in power and difficulty. You loosen your grip after Imperial Rapid, bidding farewell to the roar, and have a chance to relax and enjoy a night of camping on the banks of scenic Lake Powell.
