Celebrity Cruises specializes in upscale, shorter-duration cruises throughout the Americas with a unique blend of traditional elegance and contemporary luxury. Founded in 1989, the young fleet features innovative designs--one ships sports outside glass elevators, while most ships provide private balconies for a larger number of rooms than usual. Onboard service stresses customer service and warm hospitality, with activities aimed towards culture and tradition. Contemporary art galleries are on display, with onboard auctions allowing passengers to add to their collections. Wine tastings and enrichment programs are also on tap. Formal and informal dinner seatings are available and offer award-winning cuisine, and piano bars, lounges, and Vegas-style shows provide evening entertainment. Celebrity Cruises offers trips to the Caribbean, the Mexican Riviera, Bermuda, Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe, and also does transatlantic crossings and Panama Canal trips. A new program takes smaller ships to more exotic destinations like the Galapagos Islands.
