Frothing river winds past solitary mesas and ancestral Puebloan buildings carving out dramatic rock formations in Canyonlands National Park before blustering on down around picturesque bluffs towards Moab.

Open In Winter
The visitor center at Hardware Ranch provides the public an opportunity
to learn more about elk and other wildlife through interactive exhibits
and programs. The visitor center is open during the winter season from
12:00-5:00 Thursdays-Mondays, closed Tuesday and Wednesday, open at 10:00 on Saturday. School, seniors, and other groups can receive
interpretive presentations with reservations. Sleigh ride prices for school
and special education groups are a reduced price of one dollar per person.
We're located 15 miles east of Hyrum, Utah, in Blacksmith Fork Canyon (see map). From Logan, Utah, travel south on State Road 165 to Hyrum, then east on Highway 101 to the ranch. Signs along the way will help lead you to the ranch. Check weather and road conditions below before visiting; winter snowstorms can make the paved road slippery on the short drive up Blacksmith Fork Canyon. The road is usually plowed and sanded by noon after each snowstorm.
We offer a compact version of Go-Utah for mobile users, allowing you to access just the information you need on the road. Of course, you can still use the full version of Go-Utah on your mobile device just as you can on your desktop.
