The Green River is an awesome stretch that cuts right into the great Uintah uplift. There's a flat, open valley upstream, while downriver you'll see huge stone gates, 1000 feet high, that appear to have split the mountains in two: The Gates of Lodore. You raft next to sheer canyon walls and challenge rapids with names like "Hell's Half Mile" and "Disaster Falls".
*Due to tight National Park Service management, there is limited access to the Green River through the Gates of Lodore. Few people have the opportunity to explore these areas and the river tends to book early.
What's Special: Fast current and exciting whitewater, incredible scenery, ancient Native American artwork, interesting geology, hikes to waterfalls, featured in National Geographic.
