Description
Ride this backcountry route to Moab reminiscent of the Wild West depicted in John Wayne classics. We'll spend the first day riding in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. Towering hoodoos and otherworldly rock formations mark our way as we ride over Elephant Hill to view the confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers.Leaving Canyonlands, the Lockhart Basin Trail leads us to the mountain bike Mecca of Moab. This remote route loosely follows the Colorado River along a rugged 4-wheel drive road that offers mountain bikers a fun and mostly moderate ride with short challenging sections of trail.
Dramatic red rock cliffs, wide-open spaces and solitude define this backcountry tour.
