Old Ephraim was the last known grizzly bear in Utah. A stone marks the spot where the huge bear was killed in 1928. The trail wends through open meadows and forested sections to the site. The trailhead is at Lodge Campground.

Basic Directions
From downtown Logan head east on 400 North (aka Hwy. 89). The road will bend north and climb up past the Utah State University and shortly thereafter enter Logan Canyon. The trailhead is reached by driving 8.9 miles up the canyon, then turning right onto the Right Hand Fork. Take this for a mile. Turn left at the first junction until the road ends.
