Scenic drives to consider in the Provo area are listed below. The Wasatch Mountains can be explored on foot, but a drive is an excellent way to see as much scenery as possible. Click on any scenic byway or backway listed below for complete information.

Alpine Scenic Drive		24 miles oneway	1 hour

	Alpine Scenic Backway travels through heavy alpine forests around Mt. Timpanogos. The road is paved, but narrow and twisting, and offers sensational alpine scenery along its length.

Cascade Springs Scenic Backway		25 miles oneway	1 hour

	Cascade Springs Scenic Backway offers excellent alpine scenery and some nice views out over the Heber Valley. At mile 7 is beautiful Cascade Springs.

Nebo Loop Scenic Byway		38 miles oneway	1 1/2 hours

	This byway allows you to see not only that tallest of Wasatch Mountains, Mount Nebo, but long stretches of Uinta National Forest.

Pony Express Trail National Back Country Byway	133 miles (214 km)	5 hours to drive the byway

Provo Canyon Scenic Byway		32 miles oneway	45 minutes

	This 32 mile scenic byway begins in Provo and winds through pretty Provo Canyon along the Provo River, one of Utah's finest trout rivers. It ends at Heber City in the Heber Valley farming area just east of the Wasatch Mountains..
