Just around the bend, hidden in the woods is Utah's best-kept secret: The Solitude Nordic Center. Easily accessible from the Solitude Village, the Nordic Center offers 20 kilometers of superbly prepared trails set for both classic and skating styles of Nordic skiing.The extensive trail system takes ones' breath away as the scenic setting transports you to a less complicated time. Located at 8,700 feet, jagged mountains surround the center field where Nordic skiers skate through Mother Nature's wonderland. The Silver Lake Day Lodge blends with the environment while meeting the visitors every need from ski and snowshoe rentals, lessons and light snacks to back country tours.
The Nordic Center is transformed during a full moon to a magical kingdom, where the white hills and the mountains glow with moonshine. Visitors and residents alike take out their skis and showshoes for this enchanted evening. Shuttle service is provided from the Village and rentals are available at the lodge.
