Utah County's newest major attraction, Thanksgiving Point, represents the realization of a dream by its creators, Alan and Karen Ashton, co-founders of WordPerfect. Surrounded by an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Johnny Miller, this five-hundred acre oasis symbolizes the Ashton's gratitude for their blessings of abundance.Visitors to the site currently enjoy the Water Tower; the Garden Emporium (a gift shop with a home and garden twist featuring a full-service floral shop, demonstration, kitchen, and conference room); the Tropical Greenhouse; Idea Gardens; Greenhouses; Animal Park; Vegetable Gardens; and English Gardens. In the Garden Wall Restaurant, the visitor can dine on American cuisine within the hand-painted trompe l'oeil walls of the restaurant, snack on goodies from the pastry and candy shop, or enjoy a refreshing drink from the old-fashioned soda fountain. Three conference rooms provide meeting space in a truly unique setting.
At the heart of the park is the Thanksgiving Gardens - 55 acres of gardens, waterfalls and lakes. Enjoy the sweeping vistas of the Grand Allee, cross the Monet Bridge and watch the flower-bordered creek ripple by, or walk to the amphitheater and marvel at the largest man-made waterfall in the Western Hemisphere.
Thanksgiving Point facility also now features the largest dinosaur museum in the U.S. The 86,000-square-foot museum that displays over 100 flying beasts and 50 other mounted dinosaurs and includes a 350-seat, giant-screen theater.
