Scenic drives to consider in the Tushar Mountains area are listed below. Click on any scenic byway or backway listed below for complete information.




Beaver Canyon Scenic Byway 40 miles oneway 1-1/2 hours
This paved route winds east through pretty Beaver Canyon along the cascading Beaver River high up into the Tushar Mountains. Along the way are some picnic areas and campgrounds. The paved portion ends after 19 miles near the Elk Meadows Ski and Summer Resort.


Beaver Canyon Scenic Byway (U-153) 17 miles (27 km) 45 minutes


Kent Lake Scenic Loop 12 miles oneway 45 min.
Kent Lake Scenic Loop (FS Route 137) branches off Hwy. 153 about 10 miles east of Beaver. This pretty side trip winds past several pretty, small lakes and campgrounds before joining the unpaved portion of Hwy. 153 about 12 miles later.


Kimberly/Big John Road 20 miles oneway 1-1/2 hours
This dirt road runs north near the ridge of the Tushar Mountains and often above the tree line. It affords some great panoramic views of the range and out over southern Utah.
