From Lagoon to Antelope Island, Davis County has something for everyone.
Located underneath the shadow of the Wasatch Mountain Range, Davis
County offers quick access to the Great Salt Lake, one of Utah's most
unique tourist destinations.
The Great Salt Lake is a remnant of the ancient Lake Bonneville, which
once covered parts of Utah, Idaho, and Nevada. The lake is much saltier
than the ocean, making floating in lake an experience you won't soon
forget. Bird watching is a popular activity because the wetlands around
the lake provide a habitat for over 250 species of birds
A causeway leads to the lake's largest island, Antelope Island. The
island is home to one of the largest publicly owned buffalo herds in
America, as well as antelope, big horn sheep, mule deer, and coyote.
Visitors can learn about nineteenth-century life at the Historic Fielding
Garr Ranch, enjoy a buffalo burger for lunch, paddle a kayak, and watch
a spectacular sunset.
Families will enjoy spending time at Lagoon, the largest amusement
park in the Intermountain West. The park features 35 rides, live entertainment,
and a water park. Other family-friendly sites include Cherry Hill Resort
and Water Park, Hill Aerospace Museum, and nine award-winning golf
courses.
