Dinosaur National Monument has two identities. The Quarry Area, contains a quarry with some 1,600 exposed bones from 11 different dinosaur species. Near the quarry is a short nature hike, a pleasant scenic drive, Indian petroglyphs, and the preserved cabin of a female homesteader.

High Country Adventure - Tubing Float down the river on our heavy-duty tubes, covered with a protective nylon and handles. Must be 14 years or older or 5'5". Steinaker Reservoir and State Park is located in the dry foothills of the eastern Uintas about 6 miles north of Vernal. Some pinyon pine, juniper and cottonwoods grow along portions of the shore, but most of this large 750 acre reservoir is exposed.
