Though biking is prohibited in the High Uintas Wilderness Area, trails and backroads within the rest of the Uintas offer a good selection of routes. Listed below are a selection of options.

Beaver Creek (Kamas) Beginner 4.5 miles one way

Bench Creek Advanced 15.5 mile loop 1 - 2 hrs.

Bench Creek Little South Fork Loop Advanced 20 miles

Dry Fork Canyon Intermediate 21.5 miles 3 hours
Fremont Indian petroglyphs are easily accessible from this trail, which follows paved roads as well. You get great scenery with no fear of being lost. Visit the historical marker for Dry Fork Village while you're out.

Duchesne Ridge Intermediate 10 miles oneway 2 - 3 hours
This trail begins at the Wolf Creek Campground and follows the ridge west through forested hills, passing many small lakes and streams.

Elk Park Loop Advanced 18 mile loop 1/2 day
The Elk Park Loop follows dirt roads and single track trails up into the forested slopes of the Uinta Mountains. Along the way are views of the peaks of the Uintas and the Flaming Gorge area.

Mineral Fork Advanced 9 miles

Sheep Creek Canyon Loop Advanced 19.5 mile loop 2 - 3 hours

Shingle Creek Trail Advanced 5 mile roundtrip
The Shingle Creek Trail is a narrow singletrack in the western Uintah Mountains, about 10 miles east of Kamas.

Soapstone Basin Intermediate 15 mile loop 3.5 hours
This route travels along forest service dirt roads through pretty alpine meadows and past some excellent views of the surrounding rounded peaks of the Uinta Mountains.

Taylor Mountain Ramble Beginner
Intermediate
2-12 miles 1 - 2 hours
This is truly a ramble of a trail or, rather, trails. Cow paths and dirt roads intersect around the mountain itself and near Uintah Basin, Bush Creek Gorge and Ashley Gorge.
