Uinta Mountains - Fishing

To describe all the great fishing opportunities is beyond the reach of this guide (for now at least), but listed below you'll information on some of the larger lakes and reservoirs in and near the Uinta Mountains.

Big Sand Wash Reservoir		Lake Size: 1 sq. mile

Bullock Reservoir		Lake Size: Small

Flaming Gorge Lake		Lake Size: 91 sq. miles

	Flaming Gorge is a very large lake with world class fishing. It is an excellent alternative to Lake Powell; during the summer there are far fewer people. Shore camping spots help the lake to accommodate a large number of boaters without crowding. Lots of room for all types of water activities.

Mirror Lake		Lake Size: Small

	A nice size lake in a stunningly beautiful setting just off the main scenic route in the western Uinta Mountains.

Moon Lake		Lake Size: Small

	Moon Lake offers fishing for rainbow, cutthroat, brown, and brook trout. The reservoir is located just south of the High Uinta Wilderness Area and about 25 miles north of Duchesne.

Pelican Lake

Red Creek Reservoir		Lake Size: Small

Smith-Morehouse Reservoir		Lake Size: 300 acres

Starvation Reservoir		Lake Size: 6 sq. miles

	Starvation Reservoir is a large reservoir is set amidst low dry foothills. It features a campground with modern facilities, a sandy beach, boating, and year-round fishing.
