The piles of snow that get dropped on the Uintas starting in October/November create great snowmobiling opportunites. You can ride anywhere you can get to in the Unitas, except in the High Uintas Wilderness Area. Hwy 150 is kept clear during the winter from Kamas to Soapstone Campground (15 miles). Near the highway at Soapstone are trailheads to groomed snowmobile trails traversing over 150 miles. You can also head up on snowmobile any of the many small access roads around the range.
