Uinta National Forest

Uinta National Forest is not in the Uinta mountains. Uinta means "pine tree" or "pine forest," and pine forest this certainly is. This is a place to camp and picnic, to explore trails via horseback or by foot or by mountain-bike wheel. Parts of the forest are explorable from the roadside or by cross-country ski.

Bears are extremely common within Utah's forested areas. Camp careful, but keep an eye out.
