Following the path of the Virgin River, the road winds through towering cliffs and scenic towns and dips into stately Zion National Park. A side trip provides access into Zion Canyon and past the park's most famous landmarks.

All vehicles may need to pay National Park entrance fees to proceed through the section of SR-9 that passes through Zion National Park. Large RVs, trailers and other vehicles will pay a fee to be escorted through the tunnels.
