Yakima Hully Rollers are the most righteous thing to happen to boat racks this millennium. Hully Rollers are pivoting U-joint rollers that make loading and unloading your boat a breeze, and fit any hull shape. Save your arm strength for paddling. Brake levers lock the rollers into a fixed position for a secure grip, and padded buckles protect both the boat and vehicle from scratches. Install Hully Rollers quickly and easily onto round OR square bars. Sold in pairs (1 left, 1 right) so you can combine them with Yakima Mako Saddles (put the Makos on the front bar) or another pair of Hully Rollers.

This product makes loading and unloading a kayak by yourself very easy. I have two sets on my 4Runner with Landsharks on the front. Get the boat on the rollers and just roll it up on the roof. Works great, everytime. I'm never going back to saddles. I find you have to lube the roller bushings regularly with silicone based lube for best performance.

We use these at the back with saddles in front for our sea kayaks. While they work well when loading, they do not secure the kayak as well as the saddles underway--especially in the wind. We make trips from Wisconsin to South Dakota and other western states and the wind is usually strong. In addition, they don't "mold" to the hull shape as well, and have caused a permanent indentation in the bottom of my wife's kayak. We're going to saddles front and rear. For shorter trips or where wind is not a problem these rollers are great.

My wife can load and unload her 16-ft kayak all by herself, and they really hold the boat securely once mounted. These mounts are solidly built and easy to use.
