Volkl does it again
prestoliag:

I skied this ski last season at Snowbird and in BC, in epic blower, and more condensed boot top conditions in a 184. This is a super ski which nicely bridges the gap between the Gotama and the too soft Sanouk (which was great in pure powder). The ski initiates very easily and you can ski it fast, or hit tight spots without worries - it was terrific in BC trees. The float is great with no loss of feel. You cannot go wrong with this ski.

Katana
wizard604:

Great ski for beginners just learning to ski .... NOT!... This is the real deal, a powder ski that kills it under all conditions. Rip with confidence. But that's the key, you gotta be confident in your ski abilities to get the most outta this ski.

Powder Hounds
Ingrid Backstrom:

If there's over a foot or so of fresh, the Katanas are all-time. They're wide and floaty, with the powder channel that acts like a swallow-tail without being a swallow-tail, keeping the tails down. Plus, they're super solid and damp (like all the best Volkls...they never chatter or flap), so if you do hit bottom, chopped up, or variable snow, they totally charge right through it.

Killer Katana
sbpowder1748463:

These skis are killer. I've had 6 days on them and they still scare the crap out of me. Wanna' go fast? Wanna' land that 50'er? These are the skis for you. They're not for the weak!! Best used on steep, deep, wide open blower snow, not for the hardpacked resort. With Dukes they weigh 15 lbs. Let gravity be your friend buy some Katanas and shred something sick.
