The X Wave 8.0's Sensifit technology uses a softer plastic in the shell for easy exit/entry, and a Customfit Pro Liner with a reinforced ankle and heel pocket to secure the foot and facilitate transmission of energy from edge to edge. A polar fleece lining in the forefoot provides extra warmth and an anatomically sculpted tongue reduces shin bang. Salomon traditionally fits people with mid to wider feet, and the 8.0 is no exception. It has a generous toe box and average fit through the arch with a glove-like fit around the Achilles to lock down the heel. The Salomon X Wave 8.0 will keep the advanced to expert all-mountain skier warm and comfortable during a day on the slopes. It has a medium-stiff flex that lends plenty of power to the edges when carving hard and just enough flex to stop you from getting your weight kicked back in bumps and powder.

I bought the boots, took them out of the box, and went skiing. They fit perfectly, and I was able to ski in them for five days with out any discomfort. Skied a lot of steep runs and the boot lived up to the hype. Fist Salomon boot I have ever bought and love it!!!!!

These boots are amazing, not only is their flex an excellent balance between comfort and control, I've been skiing for eight years (by skiing, I mean 30 plus days a season)and it has taken me until now to finally put the effort into finding a boot that fit my giant forefoot, I feel like a total moron for waiting so long. But, now my apres skiing foot pain is a thing of the past. Also, the liner forms nicely to your foot and they really lock your heel down.Bottom line: these are an excellent boot for the expert skier who wants comfort and a spacious toe box.
