Not a dainty watch
CaliAtHeart:
Since this is a women's watch, I should mention that this is not a dainty watch at all. The face of the watch is ~1 + 1/8" in diameter, the height of the watch (when you place it face up on a table) is ~1/2". The leather straps themselves are about 1/16" think -- the thickest I've seen for a watch. The watch is also somewhat heavy. However, that being said, it does have a very feminine and yet sturdy look to it. The hour and minute hands glow in the dark. The sheath behind the watch doesn't slide off by itself because the metal clip at the end of the leather strap is too large -- you'll either need tools or a watch-smith to take it off for you. Note that since this looks like an older version (the Oakley website no longer sells these colors), the watch battery may either be dead or dying by the time you get it. Overall this is a beautiful and sturdy watch.
Gorgeous but sat too long on shelf?

OK. I bought this on clearance and knew it was a good deal. Arrived and fit my 7" wrist - off to a good start. Really like style and it is a beautiful watch. However, after a week it went dead. I suspected battery as I knew this was not this year's model, but didn't want to return it for another one - figured it would have same problem. Jeweler at mall wanted $25 to change battery. Turns out Oakley was close to where I live - they changed out battery at no charge which solved the problem.Moral of the story...if it is a good deal, it is probably because it sat on the shelf for a while....which in the caes of a watch, could pose a problem.I will note that backcountry.com was more than happy to have me send it back for a replacement or full refund when I called.
