nice for holding camera gear not so hot when bootpacking or carrying extra equipment on the outside of bag (such as board or snowshoes). The pack is too fat and floppy once loaded, needs a few extra straps to cinch things down. Found that the zipper would open of its own accord if snowshoes were attached to the outside as the carry straps do not cinch down over the zippers, only to the outside panel.nice camera bag, not a good snowsports bag, not what I expected from Dakine.
Backpack of Camera
Cool Papa:
This pack is stellar. I use it when I hike to get the shots I need. Its light, has plenty of compartments for all my gadgets, and i can access the camera quickly if i see something that draws my attention.I wouldn't necessarily say you can go and bomb a 30 foot cliff on your board with your camera in there, but I'd say that anything below 10 you'd be allright. :P
great versatile pack
ice cream headache:
I've taken this pack out a few times, and it's been very good. The photo block on the inside easily holds my 4 lenses no problem, with room for all the extra memory cards and other little knick knacks. Your gear is held in place really well, with no shifting. The attachments on the back hold a tripod really well, or a helmet or pads for the trip up. There's not a lot of room if you have the camera block in for other gear, probably just a snack and a light jacket. So if you need more room, maybe look at the Dakine Sequence. But the photo block can be removed to carry on its own, or to use the pack as a normal pack. Looks like it would make a great carry on bag.
Decent product, not the best application
NJHeart2Heart:
This bag has two zippers for it's large compartment; one opens like a traditional pack, on the opposite side of the shoulder straps, and one opens on the same side as the shoulder straps. For me, what sounded like a good idea (keep shoulder straps off ground) wound up being confusing and my camera stuff was not all that accessible anyway. Also, with the photo pack attached, there is little room for anything else inside. Had I been able to test drive it retail, I would have bought a fanny pack (accessibility) just for camera and lenses. Construction & quality is good, & I DO like the photo block for home storage, so I will keep the set and try to use the pack elsewhere.
