this is a great Camelbak - it's huge. much bigger than my lobo pack. this is definitely for longer day hikes or when you're carrying food etc. for others. I would say this pack is for 5+ hour hikes, or if you have to bring more clothes. the lobo is good for shorter day hikes.

The pack is very good-holds a lot of items. Be sure not to bite through the bite valve- if you happen to though, the warranty covers it. But the pack in general makes hiking, riding, running, or walking around much easier and enjoyable. A definite buy.

I never saw the HAWG in person so when it arrived I cant begin to describe my elation. This is truly a quality constructed product. Who knew? I use this bag for all outdoor activities that will last less than a full day. Even if all you keep in it is the bladder it is unobtrusive enough to justify wearing. I also use the pack for grabbing groceries around town on my bike. It certainly holds enough for a days worth of grub. The pack sheds water in a downpour for about 15 minutes, but is by no means waterproof. All around I would call this the perfect daypack.

If you are looking for a hydration pack in general I have some advice CHOOSE CAMELBAK!!! I have tried some of the off brands of CamelBak but found that they leaked and were hard to clean and their packs were poor quality also. The CamelBak Hawg may cost a lot but believe me it is more than worth it. In my opinion its the best of all the CamelBaks on the market. It is great for climbing, mountain biking, hiking, extended hiking, mowing the lawn, and every other outdoor activity. So if questioning weather or not to buy it I can tell you its worth it.

I've logged over 100,000 vertical feet with this pack on my back. It holds absolutely everything I need from first aid gear to a jacket and even room for everything you need to fix a bike on the trial - tubes and tools. This is my favorite piece of gear.
