Yakima HullRaiser Aero Water Roof Rack w/ Tie Down description The Yakima HullRaiser Aero Water Roof Rack uses a J-cradle design, which holds a kayak on its side. This takes up little roof space and allows quick, easy loading. | Bottom Line: The Yakima HullRaiser Aero Water Roof Rack lets you load your boat without using up so much room that you can put anything else on top of your car. |
very sturdy

This makes traveling with a kayak nice. Very sturdy and easy to assemble. I have a 2004 toyota 4 runner and these fit perfect on the factory racks. It takes about 2 minutes to put these on and about 10 minutes for us to load the tandem yak. Once the kayak is tied down it will not move even at 55 mph.
GREAT RACK!!

I recently used our hullraiser aero this past weekend and took our 9 foot kayak and our 14 foot kayak to Lake Powell. It was great!! My only complaint is that the 14 foot kayak seemed to sway quite a bit more than I would have liked. We hit a spot on the way home where the winds picked up to about 40 or 50 mph and I thought it was going to rip the 14 foot kayak and rack right off the roof. The 9 foot boat didn't have any problems at all. I think with a boat that long it would have been better to use the mako saddles but the hullraiser worked perfect with our 9 foot kayak. All in all it was a GREAT rack!!!
perfect fit

the yakima hullraiser aero was a perfect fit on a 2001 ford explorer roof rack and the instructions explained it all, I had it all loaded in less than an hour thanks.
