BMW 3 Series bike roof rack can be mounted on Toyota RAV4
jrschultz2282591:
I just purchased a 2008 Toyota RAV4 and wanted to use the bicycle roof rack that I already owned, and was using, on my 2006 BMW 3 Series. These universal mounts worked fine on the RAV4 for my application without any drilling or other modification of my original equipment (except for easily removing the mounting brackets on the bike rack rails specific to the BMW). This saved me considerable expense by not having to purchase another bicycle roof rack specific to the Toyota. And I have the flexibility of using the same rack on both vehicles. I would recommend these mounts as they seem to have a design that would work in most applications.
Worth the money
McKee:
I decided to buy the mounts despite the negative reviews I read. Assembly was a little time consuming due to height of my truck but worth the effort. I installed them on my Nissan Xterra to transport my bikes. The trip from Montral Qc to Clearwater, FL and back went without any problems. Anyone who has concerns about the sturdiness of this product shouldn't. Driving through a tornado watch in Georgia and rain and high winds in Pennsylvania did even budge the bikes.
