I've gone through 2 of these bands while deployed in Iraq. The loops that hold the watch in place are cheap and will tear over time. Something as simple as taking the watch off can tear the loops. Several other people in my unit have had the same problem with the band and will not purchase another. It's not a matter of if it will break but when.

I've had about 6 of these bands. As a ski patroller, these bands work well when layering up and off again quickly as conditions change. come summer there is no 'gunk build-up' as has been reported by a lot of guys in Iraq wearing the leather bands.It has it's limitations - I use this band w/ my X-Lander over time and hard use the strap material can begin to fail at the corners, then it's time to get another one.The upshot? I wouldn't have another band, it's versatility, comfort and usability make it an optimal choice.

I found, having slender wrists, that this watch band is uncomfortable as the overlapping ends of the band actually gather under the body of the watch on top of my wrist, resulting in chafing from the sharp corners of the elastic band. The watch's profile looks silly on my wrist and gets hung up on long sleeve clothing w/o the standard band. Hope this helps.
