pretty good overall
pauld:

Its pretty good overall. The compass, elevation charting, and memory functions rock. The functions that suck are the temp (basically whatever your body temp is) and the inclinometer as it is such a small area to get a reading of the slope. Maybe I just don't know how to use it properly though.Being able to look at multiple days on the same graph is really cool. I would recommend this watch to any gearhead.

great altimeter watch
Alpinelight:

I've used my S6 for two full years now, and it's become indispensible for winter backcountry, trekking, and mountain biking. Can't imagine heading into the wilderness without it.The altimeter is quite accurate (although you still need to understand how an altimeter works...). Altitude-based alarms are a great help when visibility is low. The compass is helpful for general use, although obviously is not set up to use with a topo. Other than that, it's nice to track the total ascent/descent for a day of snowboard or mountain biking.Where else can you get this kind of info on your wrist? I've tried other altimeter watches (to remain nameless) and was very unimpressed with reliability. Suunto has it together.

Pretty Darn Good
Chris Matheson:

So far this watch has been very accurate... as long as I remember to calibrate it, and change to the barometric function when not moving for a while. My biggest problem is that the software is for windows only, and I own a Mac. Don't really want to install Windows just for this program.

Great watch for the money
Aj1612:

I was very impressed by the style, quality, and functionality of this watch. It has tons of features for a watch of this price and size, and I was surprised at how accurate and sensitive it was, though, like every other altimeter, it needs to be adjusted from time to time. I ended up returning the watch only because it is very skiing-specific in design and function. I do ski often, and it can certainly be used effectively for other recreational activities, but with some additional effort. I wanted something that is equally suited for mountain biking, skiing, running, etc. Still, it's a great watch and I'd highly recommend it.

Suunto S6 Altimeter
Brian Muller:

I'm going to have to say the same thing as the other person. Its a great watch, has tons of functions, but you always need to switch the screen to see different things and it takes some time knowing where everything is, and the altimeter ALWAYS needs adjusting, I think I am going to return it. Its not a bad watch though, because as I understand altimeters have to work off the barometer, but I have to get one that doesn't need so much adjusting.
