Red Cloud 5000

Very comfortable when packed right. Can carry an immense load. I actually carried food for five people on a backpacking trip with this plus clothes, a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad, a tent, a self inflating pad, first aid, and some other things. Plus it was a winter trip so the clothes were heavy. And the green color appeals to me.

Used the pack three times so far, very easy to adjust during first trip. Lots of room.(I tend to over pack) I was able to fit compressed zero degree bag in compartment with no problem. I wish side adjusting straps had buckles also, not just adjusters. All in all, I would highly recommend pack.
Basically, the pack's a mule.

I have a 6650 Red Cloud. This pack can hold everything and anything. I worked at a camp where I led two week backpacking trips and had to carry over 9 liters of water and a big first aid kit. I was also able to then fit everything else on the inside, including tent and air mattress. Plus, then I had room for when people got hurt and we needed to divide weight up. Basically, the pack's a mule. The pack is sturdy at heavy weights and has lots of padding. The hip belt could form a little bit more to your body, and I wouldn't recommend to smaller sized people. The material can stand up to anything, and if it doesn't, well it has a lifetime warranty with Kelty and their repair service is excellent. Overall, it is a great buy.
a pretty good backpack

This pack is sturdy and can pretty much take anything you throw at it. Ive stuffed it to the brim on two European vacations and on a couple backpacking excursions. Its a little heavy and the straps slip a little bit under heavy weight (more than 35lb) and it gets a little uncomfortable, but for moderate loads it's a nice starter pack.
