If you are buying an ATC-XP (and if you're thinking about it ... you should) you're going to need a biner to go with it. Spend an extra seven bucks and get a great deal on a superb belay biner. The four bucks you save might not seem like much but that's about a 15% discount for something you're going to need anyhow. Fork it over!

The best belaying device I have owned so far. The rope glides incredibly well and yet provides variable friction when catching a fall in a very safe manner. I never experienced any yanking when feeding the rope to a lead partner.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I got this package for price and quality.ATC-XP is an award-winning belay device, and it does live up to its reputation. Rocklock Screwgate is just a carabiner - nothing special about it. A larger carabiner with a wider openning would have been better, but as standard belay equipment Rocklock Screwgate is just fine.
