YES and a little of NO
epiirto:
The description is half right. It would not be a good idea to wear these in the summer as it will probably most likely not keep your feet dry from sweat. They pill a little here and there, but mostly when I'm just putting my boots on. After that it is smooth sailing. They seem to work best with water-proof breathable material like Primaloft. All in all they are comfortable and work best when you are trekking. They will not keep your feet warm without boots. Maybe a liner will do some good for that.
Great Thick Hikers!
Steve Tibbitts:
I absolutely love these socks. These are by far my most comfortable hiking/mountaineering socks! They are very thick so make sure you have room to move in your boots. As with all Lorpen socks these have support in all the right places so your feet feel amazing! Lorpen thought of everything on these babies! Sometimes you just want to buy new socks but want to wait til your others have worn out, but these aren't wearing out at all......
nice thick and tight socks
trexpesto:
I'm not a minimalist when it comes to footwear. These are some nice socks. When new they fit quite firmly. There is no movement, but two pairs are too tight. Eventually they get a little bagged out in the foot, but not bad. The tops are pretty susceptible to brush damage, and didn't like duct tape gaiters. They may not be perfect, but they were my best socks and I bought 4 more pair this year.
Warm and comfortable

I really like these. They are so warm, comfortable and will be great for a good bit of hiking. I recommend 'em.
