Salomon XT Wings WP Shoe - Men's description As the newest incarnation from Salomon's well-loved trail running line, the waterproof and ridiculously comfortable Men's XT Wings WP Shoe tackles the trails wet or dry, and keeps the comfort going even after you leave the trail. With the help of a foot-hugging asymmetrical Quicklace system, and pronation control in the midsole, the XT Wings WP Shoe provides unparalleled fit and comfort both on the trail and off. Salomon's versatile, Running Contragrip sole tames any trail; from rocky descents to muddy climbs to slushy streets in town. The antimicrobial Ortholite footbed puts an end to foot funk, while the Agile Chassis Skeleton supports your arches and provides a stable platform for rocky and rough terrain, reducing foot fatigue and chances of a rolled ankle. | Bottom Line: The WP stands for waterproof, and Salomon stands for amazing trail running durability and performance. |
best shoes ever
TH:
I have been using trail running shoes for about ten years. These are the best by far. Terrific heal cradling.
Salomon raises the bar
thorning792364101:
Compared to the 2005 and 2006 XCR Pro's, Salomon has made the XT Wings lighter, yet kept the great heel cushion and other supportive features that make running on the trail a pleasure. I am 6'0, 155 lbs. and got my pair a week ago. I ran a 7 miler on a powerline and a 20 miler on a trail at the local state park. The trail consists of packed dirt, lots of roots and even more rocks ranging from pea to bowling ball size. I think the shoes felt great on the varied surface. I've read other reviews that stated the shoes were "too soft"... I'd like to know what shoes you were comparing them to and what type of trail surface you were running on. They aren't stiff, but unlike road running were you can stare off into oblivion or at least down the block, I run like I ride and pick my line immediately in front of me. So I didn't purposefully step on sharp objects to see how they'd protect my feet, but all in all they were supportive and stable. I had no issues with the laces breaking or becoming loose during the run. You may pay top dollar for these shoes, but there's no buyer's remorse here. Good job Salomon!
