A short gauntlet that sits over your jacket cuff helps keep the snow outeven when you full-on ragdoll your way down the hill after wiping out on the steeps. They run a little small so I had to take them back for mediums but they fit my real nice now. The glove liners are nice when you don't want to be a ninja turtle and be able to grab and eat stuff. Afterwards the mitts slip right back on and off I go. Super good waterproofing and keep me really warm. They don't feel like much but they deliver a lot.
