Hestra Heli Glove description The Hestra Army Leather Heli Ski glove is a full-featured gauntlet glove for those who appreciate deep pow and crisp, cold early morning drops. The Heli Ski is super warm and durable thanks to windproof, waterproof and breathable Delfy 2000 nylon fabric. The Army Leather goatskin palm is super grippy and stays flexible in the coldest conditions. The interior lining is removable and replaceable, so you can customize your warmth. | Bottom Line: From heli drops to rope drops to cliff drops, this glove keeps up. |
Great Gloves
TeleMarko Polo:
I've been wearing gloves for a long time that loose function and warmth. Not anymore these gloves are outstanding extremely warm, versatile, and made to kick the crap out of. Have not had any problems, the wrist leashes are brilliant.
Hestra Heli
scottp:
I returned the Hestra Heli glove without wearing it outdoors because of the fit. While the finger length (size 8) was perfect, the wrist area was too tight, even without securing the Velcro wrist strap/cinch. Using the wrist strap made it too difficult to remove the glove, which I often do. If your someone who rarely removes a glove then it might work fine for you. Also, while the wrist 'leash' is great in that it has a tight wrist-band attached to the cord, it was uncomfortable (too wide), interfering with my layering at the wrist. All of this is personal and you might find the fit fine. I suggest allowing enough time to return for a different size (I subsequently tried on a larger size in a store and it was too big in the fingers but OK at the wrist). I noticed a couple of other skiers wearing the glove and their wrist cinch was not secured, so I suspect this is common. The feel of the glove when on is excellent in its flexibility and form-fitting. I wish they had been just a little wider at the wrist-it doesn't really need the wrist cinch. The gauntlet is great and the insert covers most of it.The Black diamond 'Prodigy' or the 'OR 'Couloir' are alternatives, though the BD doesn't have a wrist strap (there are two small loops that should accommodate rigging your own).
