DAKINE Cobra Glove - Men's description

The DAKINE Men's Cobra GT Glove is combines the benefits of leather gloves with synthetic insulation, and a Gore-tex lining. Pre-curved finger construction, coupled with a leather palm, lends a solid grip on ski poles and durability for hiking for your turns day after day. The waterproof neoprene wrist cuff puts the kibosh on inbound snow. Nylon Flextough panels are ready to enjoy seasons of abuse. And finally, there's a nose wipe panel on the thumb so you can approach that betty in the pipe sans snot.

Bottom Line: Cobra Commander wore these back when he skied.

good stuff

These gloves kept my hands warm in -40C, but the stitching in the thumb did tear after a few days of use. Its easy to fix but could make you cold if it grows.

DISAPPOINTED IN DAKINE
JSCOTTF57:

I'll get right to the point. I made my purchase based on the reviews I read. Boy was I misinformed! For the price, this glove is a joke! I read a review saying "These gloves kept my hands warm in -40C" THIS IS NOT TRUE AT ALL! Also the reviews are over a year old. May be Dakine changed something in there gloves since then. I live 5 minutes south of the Wisconsin state line and they didn't do what everyone said they did. I walked the dog yesterday, it was only 20 degrees, I was only outside 15 minutes and my finger tips started getting cold! Today 1/2/08 it was 18 degrees and my finger tips got cold again! I knew I should have stuck with a glove that has at least 100 grams of Thinsulate Brand insulation and not Thermoloft. I also noticed the Features area for this glove, they never mention how much Thermoloft insulation is in the glove. I ended up wearing my wifes gloves with 100 grams of Thinsulate Brand insulation in them. I was outside using the snow blower for 2 hours, snow blowing everywhere and my wifes gloves kept my hands warm. I'll be returning them tomorrow. BOTTOM LINE: COBRA GT GLOVES LOOK NICE BUT DON'T GET THE JOB DONE! AND THAT'S THE TRUTH!
