Provo Canyon Scenic Byway (Hwy. 189)
This 32 mile scenic byway begins in Provo and winds through pretty Provo Canyon along the Provo River, one of Utah's finest trout rivers. It ends at Heber City in the Heber Valley farming area just east of the Wasatch Mountains. In addition to pretty mountain scenery along its length, you also pass beautiful Bridal Veil Falls and Deer Creek Reservoir, a popular place for boating and fishing. Paved; 32 miles one-way; 1-1/2 hours.
Alpine Scenic Backway (Hwy. 92)
Alpine Scenic Backway travels through heavy alpine forests around Mt. Timpanogos. The road is paved, but narrow and twisting, and offers sensational alpine scenery along its length. Ever present is the splendid visage of Mt. Timpanogos. You'll pass Timpanogos Cave National Monument along the way and Sundance Resort. Paved; 24 miles one-way; 1-2 hours; no trailers; closed beyond Sundance in Winter.
Cascade Springs Scenic Backway
Cascade Springs Scenic Backway offers excellent alpine scenery and some nice views out over the Heber Valley. At mile 7 is beautiful Cascade Springs. Paved to Cascade Springs /gravel thereafter; 25 miles one-way; 1-1/2 hours; closed in Winter.
