Provo Temple
This impressive structure of white cast stone with a golden spire sits on a rise near the university looking over the city. Visitors are not allowed inside, but you can poke around its attractively landscaped grounds. 2200 N. Temple Dr.
Bridal Veil Falls
Bridal Veil Falls is a beautiful foot "double-cataract" falls along Hwy 189 in Provo Canyon. It is most impressive in spring and early summer when flows are highest and wildflowers surround the area. You can view the falls from a highway pull-off or hike to its base.
Timpanogos Cave National Monument
Mt. Timpanogos Cave National Monument (801-756-5238) consists of three caves located high up on Mt. Timpanogos with some eerily beautiful cave formations. Rangers lead hour long tours of the cave on a regular basis.
You will need to hike up to the entrance on a moderately difficult 1-1/2 mile trail that climbs over 1,000 feet. The cave is a chilly 45 degrees year round so you'll want a sweater even in summer. Tickets for the tours are $6 adult/$5 children and can be obtained at the visitor center.
It is a very popular attraction for Utahns as well as tourists, especially from June through August. Tickets should be purchased several weeks in advance. You can do so by phone with a credit card by calling 801-756-1679 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Timpanogos Cave National Monument is opened from mid-May to mid-Sept.
Cascade Springs
Cascade Springs is a beautiful little spot north of the Mt. Timpanogos Wilderness Area. Seven million gallons of water a day flow down a series of limestone terraces and pools among lush vegetation. The route to the springs is also very attractive. (See Scenic Drives.)
