This historic fort was established in 1867 and built in a square, 100 feet on each side, with materials such as volcanic rock. The walls are 18.5 feet tall, with 4 feet thick footings at the bottom, and 2.5 feet thick at the top. The fort has been restored and free guided tours are available daily.

The Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park is a 28-mile trail for non-motorized use. The trail begins at Park City and follows Interstate 80 through Wanship and Coalville to Echo Reservoir.
