Ely Travel Information
Located at the junction of Route 93 and Route 50, two of the loneliest roads in the United States, Ely (pop. 4500) has remade itself several times, starting first as a railroad town, then becoming a mining town and finally posing now as an alluring tourist stop. Ely is a gem of a town within an hour's drive of a good number of recreational venues including Cave Mountain State Park, Ward Charcoal Ovens State Park, Lehman Caves and Great Basin National Park. Visitors will find Ely a great place to base themselves for exploration of the surrounding areas, offering affordable accommodations and home-cooked dining options. Ely is also a good place to stock up on supplies for multi-day adventures and a welcome spot to rest following recreation-filled days. Ely is located in east central Nevada.
