Antelope Island Hiking Trails Easy

Antelope Island State Park has 20-some miles of back country trails.

Bair Canyon Trail Difficult
7 mile roundtrip 3 - 5 hours
Bair Canyon Trail is a challenging hike in the Wasatch Mountains near Fruit Heights in Davis County.

Ben Lomond Peak Via N. Ogden Canyon Intermediate
7 miles one way 5 to 6 hours

Beus Canyon Difficult
12 mile roundtrip 9 to 11 hours
This challenging route brings you to the summit of Mt. Ogden. It climbs moderatley at first and then quite steeply for the final 4 miles.

Bonneville Shoreline Trail Easy
6.5 mile oneway 3-4 hours
The Bonneville Shoreline Trail runs north to south along the lower elevations of Mt. Ogden. It begins at the Ogden River Parkway along Hwy. 22 and intersects each of the trails into Taylor's Canyon, Waterfall Canyon and Strong Canyon. It ends at the Beaus Canyon Trail. It's a good early season choice.

Burch Creek Trail Intermediate
4 mile roundtrip 3-4 hours
Burch Creek Trail climbs steeply along pretty Burch Creek. The trail is not maintained but is easy to stay with. You'll need to cross the stream a few times near the top of the trail.

Coldwater Canyon Intermediate
2.7 mile roundtrip 3 hours
The trail begins at the "Smokey Bear" sign a few miles up Ogden Canyon. It follows the Indian Trail for about .6 miles before branching to the left along Coldwater Creek.

Indian Trail Intermediate
4.2 mile oneway 3-4 hours
This popular trail runs high above Ogden River through heavy oak, fir and spruce. It offers great views of Ogden Canyon, the city of Ogden and the Great Salt Lake. The trail starts at the east end of 22nd Street and ends at the "Smokey Bear" sign a few miles up Ogden Canyon (though you can hike it either direction).

Kays Creek - Fernwood Trail Difficult
8 miles roundtrip 3+ hours

Strongs Canyon Easy
1 mile roundtrip 1/2 hour
This well-shaded trail runs up beside Strongs Creek from 36th Street to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. An unmaintained trail continues fiurther along the creek past this point.
