San Francisco - Tourist Attractions / Parks
A city the size of San Francisco has hundreds of attractions geared
towards tourists. Below are a few of the most popular
destinations. Alcatraz Island is one of the nation’s most infamous
former prisons. Ride a ferry out to the island and take an audio tour
using the voices of former guards and inmates. Departures daily every
30 minutes from Pier 41, advance ticketing recommended. Golden Gate
Park, or the Presidio, is a massive
collection of parks, gardens, museums, and recreational facilities,
covering more than 1,000 acres at the northern tip of San Francisco
Peninsula. The
Mission Dolores is a beautiful adobe building more than 230 years old
that was the first European structure built in the San Francisco area.
Located on the corner of Dolores and 16th Street. The Golden Gate
Bridge is
undoubtedly the west coast’s most famous landmark. The impressive
structure is a marvel to drive or walk over, or a grand viewpoint can
be had from the Fort Point overlook in Golden Gate Park.
