Wildcat Canyon Trail

This trip is best done with a shuttle and started at Lava Point. The trail runs through pleasant scenic forests of pine and meadows surrounded by oak. A branch trial to Northgate Peak Overlook provides great views of the huge dome of North Guardian Angel and the maze of canyons that surround it. (The 2.4 miles out-back are included in the mileage below.) Good camping is available along the route, though you must camp east of the trail only.
