Delicate Arch Trail

 Delicate Arch is a extraordinarily beautiful and graceful structure. It is a must see. ..The trail to Delicate Arch begins at the parking lot at Wolfe Ranch. It is 1.5 miles oneway over slickrock with a 480 foot elevation gain. There is no shade, so be sure to bring water. The trail is fabulously designed to keep Delicate Arch from view until the last moment. It is only after you climb around the edge of a final sandstone fin that you can see the arch, standing alone at the edge of a curving slickrock basin. The view is memorable. Many hikers make the trek in the evening to be there for sunset. If your timing is right and the moon is near full, you can stick around for moonrise. Hiking down by moonlight is somewhat of a challenge, but well worth it.
