DescriptionEstablished in 1938, The Tracy Aviary is the nation's oldest public aviary. It is located on 7 wooded acres in Liberty Park. The mature trees that dominate the sky provide abundant shade, making The Tracy Aviary a "cool" place to visit year-round. Approximately 400 birds of 133 species call The Tracy Aviary home. During summer months, visitors can enjoy a free-flying bird show and hand-feed colorful parrots in the Parrot Encounter Exhibit. People are welcome to visit the birds at The Tracy Aviary any time of the year, or The Tracy Aviary can bring their birds to you. They offer a variety of educational outreach programs for schools, scout groups, families, etc. The Tracy Aviary is a private non-profit organization devoted to environmental education, avian conservation, and research. Admission is nominal and all proceeds benefit the birds.
