In the 1850's Brigham Young sent Mormon missionaries to the "Iron County" area to mine iron. The Iron Mission museum tells their story. Displays include horse-drawn vehicles and a collection of Indian and pioneer artifacts.

The BLM information centers are located around the periphery of the Monument. BLM personnel at these centers can provide visitors with essential and detailed information. The centers also offer books and maps for purchase through our cooperating interpretive associations.

Quail Creek Reservoir (590 acres) is an attractive reservoir situated beneath red rock cliff walls. Quail Creek State Park along its southwestern shore offers a paved boat ramp, picnic area, swimming beach and a modern campground.
