Mount Timpanogos has, for most of this century, been the most popular mountain climbing destination in Utah. The majestic mountain, second highest in the Wasatch Mountains, seems to have everything-an alpine lake just below the summit, a small glacier, waterfalls along the trail, high alpine meadows and wildflowers, even a herd of about 200 mountain goats that were introduced in 1981.

Anyone who has visited Canyonlands or Arches National Parks in the early summer has probably gazed admiringly at the snow capped peaks of the La Sal Mountains. The sight of snow seems oddly out of place in the midst of the desert heat, but snow is usually visible on the higher summits of the La Sals well into July.

The Mueller Park Trail is 13 miles long (out-and-back) and runs through heavy forest.

This 12 mile trail follows the shoreline of Strawberry Reservoir through the "Narrows," a narrow canyon of the reservoir accessible only by boat or this non-motorized trail.

The Natural Bridges Loop Trail descends the Sipapu Bridge Trail to the Sipapu Bridge. The trail runs along the bottom of the canyon to the Kachina Brdge and the Owachomo Bridge. It returns to the top of the mesa via the Owachomo Bridge Trail.

These two trails provide access to the popular Naturalist Basin area from the Highline Trail.

Navajo Knobs Trail continues where the Rim Overlook Trail ends and climbs another 500 feet to a great 360 degree panoramic overlook.

The Navajo Loop Trail begins at Sunset Point. Take the right fork just below the rim through a steep, narrow canyon to the even narrower Wall Street canyon, where tall pines grow among taller hoodoos. The trail returns up sharp switchbacks to the same fork in the trail.

Neff's Canyon Trail runs along an old jeep road and then climbs into the Mount Olympus Wilderness with some views out over the city.

The Negro Bill Canyon Trail climbs a slickrock canyon along a stream to the base of Morning Glory Natural Bridge. Its 243 foot span makes it the sixth largest natural bridge in the country.
