A few reservoirs near Provo provide some good fishing opportunities opportunities. The Provo River is a first class trout stream.

Deer Creek Reservoir Lake Size:  4.2 sq. miles   
Deer Creek Reservoir lies in the southwest corner of beautiful Heber Valley and consistently provides some of Utah's finest fishing. Warm water and predictable canyon winds make Deer Creek extremely popular for boating, wind surfing, sunbathing, swimming and sailboating.
Mona Reservoir Lake Size:  4 sq. miles   
Mona Reservoir is largely surrounded by private property, but there's some nice access by the dam. It's a very uncrowded reservoir, good for waterskiing, fishing, and boating.
Provo River
The Provo River meanders through the middle of Heber Valley and is well known for its blue-ribbon fishing. The Provo originates high in the Uinta mountains; it is collected at Jordanelle and Deer Creek reservoirs before arriving at its destination, Utah Lake.
Utah Lake Lake Size:  150 sq. miles   
Utah Lake provides good boating, sailing and water skiing opportunities. The lake is 24 miles long and averages about 11 miles wide, though the average depth is only about 10 feet.
