Smooth, bulbous, oddly-shaped, free-form rock formations are the lure of small Goblin Valley State Park. Small holes in some of the formations make them look like petrified goblins, hence the park's name.

Goosenecks State Park is a primitive park with a great view of an incredible series of gooseneck turns in the San Juan River 1,000 feet below.

About 6 miles from Zion Canyon is the well preserved ghost town of Grafton. It consists of a schoolhouse and store and a few scattered homes, some of which you can walk through.

The Grand Gulch/Cedar Mesa Plateau is a unique area for exploring nature and a part of history. This is a place where ancient cultural resources are found in primitive and wilderness-like settings. Most canyons and cultural sites can only be reached by hiking or backpacking.

The Great Salt Lake State Park has swimming beaches, changing rooms with showers, picnic tables, a primitive campground and a boat ramp and marina.

Green River State Park is an oasis on the bank of the Green River where tall cottonwood trees shade well-manicured lawns. The park is a favorite embarkation point for river trips through Labyrinth and Stillwater canyons and is a good base for seeing much of southeastern Utah.
