This historic fort was established in 1867 and built in a square, 100 feet on each side, with materials such as volcanic rock. The walls are 18.5 feet tall, with 4 feet thick footings at the bottom, and 2.5 feet thick at the top. The fort has been restored and free guided tours are available daily.

In the 1850's Brigham Young sent Mormon missionaries to the "Iron County" area to mine iron. The Iron Mission museum tells their story. Displays include horse-drawn vehicles and a collection of Indian and pioneer artifacts.

Minersville State Park sits at the edge of 1100 acre Minersville Reservoir. Not particularly attractive, it offers good fishing opportunities in spring and fall.
